Fuller Project Cover Story in TIME Magazine Investigates the Left Behind Economy

On the cover of TIME Magazine in September, The Fuller Project’s Malcolm Burnley reported the story of American waitresses paid as little as $2.13 per hour base pay without a raise in four decades. Women are ⅔ of the people working as tipped servers, and face a high rate of discrimination and harassment on the job.

Following on the reporting, Senator Booker wrote an OpEd in TIME about this issue, and Senator McCaskill spoke about the reporting on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang engaged with the article, Governor of Pennsylvania Tom Wolf shared the article on social media, and other TV and radio featured the findings of the article.
